Pastels have been used by artists since the Renaissance and gained considerable popularity in the 18th century when a number of notable artists made pastels their primary medium.
Pastels can also be found in various different forms. But here let me tell you one of the pastel forms soft pastels.
Soft pastels are the most widely used form of pastels .the stick have a higher portion of pigment and less binder resulting in a brighter color. The drawing can be readily smudged and blended but it results in a higher proportion of dust. Finished drawing with soft pastels require protecting either framing under glass or spray with a fixative to prevent smudging.
Here I am presenting one of my artwork performed by Soft pastels and also you can see that the tradition is still on…..Yes, painting of a horse by soft pastels.
